“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31b”
In Romans 8:31b, the Apostle Paul is asking a rhetorical question. The nature of this type of question is to not expect a specific answer from the reader, but rather in order to make a point. “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
This scripture begins with “if” as a condition. This “if” has so much power in this text. The entire chapter of Romans 8 is narrating the meaning of this “if” condition. This is conditional to the price that was paid once and for all through the blood of the perfect lamb of God- Jesus Christ.
God is for you today because of Jesus Christ. This is the truth that the spirit of God is revealing through Paul to the Church of the New Covenant. The Son of God put the Almighty, All powerful and All knowing God on your side. Hallelujah!
Do you recollect what exactly happened on the night of the first Passover mentioned in the Bible in Exodus 12? The people of God was instructed to apply the blood of the lamb on their door posts. Consider the effect of the blood that was applied on the door post. The blood put God Almighty on their side, and the fear of death of their first born did not touch them. Let’s reflect about their divine protection, why were they protected from death? Is it because of their perfect behavior or perfect condition or was it because of the blood? Definitely because of the blood! They believed and obeyed God’s instruction which is the shadow of the blood of the true Lamb of God, who is the only begotten of the father- Jesus Christ.
Today God is for you through the blood of Jesus Christ. The weapons that the enemy brings against you shall not prosper (Isaiah 54:17). No sickness, No disease, no evil accusation, no gossip can come successfully against you because of the blood of Jesus. Believe this truth and walk out your life by the spirit of the Lord through the knowledge of this truth. Apply the blood of Jesus Christ, and be confident that God is for you in Christ Jesus. If God is for you, then nothing can be against you! Amen.
